Clive was born in Dorset and has traced many generations of his family back to Winfrith Newburgh, the neighbouring village to West Lulworth. He had spent some 35 years in the electronics and data communications industries before moving to Lulworth. For many years he played the trombone in various brass bands in Dorset, Wiltshire and Hampshire.
Lisa is from Sydney, Australia and moved to England in 2003. She has travelled quite extensively around the UK and particularly loves the South Coast and Dorset Countryside. Lisa has a strong interest in holistic health and well-being, and has spent many years reading philosophies of health and natural therapies. She is a real animal lover and has a true love of the great outdoors!
Lisa and Clive enjoy sharing their peaceful home with guests, in this area of outstanding natural beauty.
A bit about what we value...
We feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful area of England and hope that you too discover and appreciate the beauty of this part of Dorset. To help preserve this part of England and the planet in general, we place great emphasis on our environmental policy, to reduce our impact and help sustain things for generations to come.
We are pleased to support the following three charities:
- Air Ambulance Dorset & Somerset
- Cancer Research UK
- Dorset Wildlife Trust
Collection boxes are located on our reception desk and we would greatly appreciate any donations from guests, small or large.
A bit about other local 'Bottoms'...
After a period of Bottom searching on the Ordnance Survey Maps just over 100 Bottoms were identified in Wessex. Amongst these are a few hotspots such as Brimstone Bottom, Hell Bottom and Burnt House Bottom. Other unusual Bottoms include Scratchy Bottom, Little Puddle Bottom, Scrape Bottom and Slap Bottom to name but a few. Then of course there's us at Bindon Bottom!
A bit about why we love the Dorset Countryside & Coast so much...
Spending time outdoors in the natural environment is great for your health. With rolling downland, secluded woodlands, wide open heaths and a dramatic coastline, this Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty is the perfect place to stretch your legs and get some fresh air... any time of year!
